Why you are here. Why I am here. 

• You have almost no family images with all of you in the same picture. You are hardly in any picture because you are the photographer in the house.

• Your partner takes images showing 80 % of an ugly road and 20 % of yourself, often head or other body parts partially cut off.

• Selfies are great but in most cases your arm seems too short, the perspective is basically always the same with a bit of a changing background and the double chin is not what you really wanted.

Familiy portraits outdoors at a location that you love. Pick nature or the urban setting. I will make the shoot a fun event for the whole family. You will always cherish the memories and also have great images for family books or to send to your families living further away. 

Individual portraits of yourself for your loved ones, a dating platform, social media... representing your personality and style. 

Unique kids portraits. Unlike with school portraits we will take fun images including your kid's hobbies, showing a bit of character and attitude, too.  

A romantic candle light shoot for couples. This date will give you some really nice memories. Get crazy and inventive, make the images show the real YOU and the sparkles ❤ in between you. 

So, who am I anyways?

Melanie, mother, a photography addict and a big fan of dance and fitness. 

I like the personal approach with people I take pictures of so that you can show your true personality in your images. Let's catch that sense of humour, your self-confidence, shyness or whatever it is that is a main trait of your character. I do not treat customers like a number. When you come into my studio we will have an easy chat to begin with and I will ask you about your ideas and requests for the images. Then we start and adjust as we go. 

You like the idea of getting your pictures taken but you are hesitating because it feels a bit uncomfortable to get photos done by a person you don't know? Well, I take your point that it is awkward to have pictures taken by s.o. you barely know. So let me introduce myself a little more:

From young age I always had a lot of foreign friends, I lived in Greensboro, NC for 3 1/2 years and then for nearly 2 years near Izmir in Turkey in a very small village. I love speaking English, in fact I can express certain things way better in English.  

My primary school teacher said that he was surprised how much I still got from class being such a dreamer. Well, this hasn't changed so much. When I am walking through town or riding my bike my thoughts are wondering where to find cool photo backgrounds. That green gate or perhaps the yellow columns over there?

I don't always take myself too serious and try to take challenging situations with a sense of humour. So if you are a little bit crazy you are so welcome to fully express this in the images. Let's have fun!

My comfort zone is in a small group setting where I am usually very outgoing. This is probably why my customers say that I am very open and really connect to them quickly.

Sorry, no photo shoots possible anymore. I am now invested in another project. Thank you for your understanding.

Which packages do I offer?

You will not receive an invoice from me, there will be no contract neither. I am acting as a private person. I ask you to make a donation according to the a. m. price list to Frauenhaus in Lörrach. Of course you may always donate more! The House of Battered Women needs to finance 30 % with donations, the rest will be funded by the government. I would love to help out there.

After they confirm receipt of the money I will send you the images via e-mail or Wetransfer with a download link. Once the donation has been made you cannot get a refund. If you wish to see the images prior to the payment I can share them in my private Facebook group 'Melanie Duan Fotovorschau'  so you can check out whether you like them.

Good to know:

I cannot offer passport pictures, Photoshop, and spontaneous shoots. I don't do documentary indoor images, neither do I wedding shoots.
